Monstera Peru

The Monstera Peru (Monstera karstenianum) is a rare and striking vining plant, prized for its thick, deeply ridged, dark green glossy leaves. Unlike most Monsteras, it does not develop fenestrations — instead, its textured, almost reptilian foliage makes it a truly unique collector's plant.

Care Instructions

• Light: Bright to medium indirect light. Avoid direct harsh sun.
• Water: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Drought-tolerant — do not overwater.
• Humidity: Appreciates humidity but adapts well to average indoor conditions.
• Temperature: Keep between 18–27°C. Avoid cold drafts and frost.
• Soil: Well-draining potting mix with perlite or orchid bark.
• Fertiliser: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
• Support: Provide a moss pole or trellis to encourage larger, more dramatic leaves.
